Dickens bicentennial fundraiser kicks off

I want to thank all of you who helped me brainstorm ideas for this fundraiser (and also my cousin, who came up with the idea of a readathon!).

If you didn't read my previous post on the subject, here's the gist:

Dickensblog is raising money this year for various charities that are in some way related to Charles Dickens. We're doing a readathon where you can read Dickens and get people to sponsor you, or you can be a sponsor yourself. Also, you can write a guest post for the blog, about anything Dickens-related, and I'll donate $10 to the charity you pick from this list. A little later in the year, we'll be doing some graphics challenges to raise money as well.

Hm, I like this idea! I wanted to read 'Great Expectations' anyway, maybe I can get sponsored for reading it. I'd read a book, get another one of those 'classics I somehow missed in school' under my belt, and help a charity at the same time! The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I think I even know which charity it will be.

Wow, this looks awesome! I'm still checking out the details but I'm really excited about perhaps doing a book challenge!
