The return of snark

We haven't done a good movie trailer snark in a LONG time. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jenny_wildcat for giving me the idea to start again, with that mainstay of the snarking community: Twilight. Specifically, Breaking Dawn, Part 2: Thank God This Is the Last One.

First thought: Somewhere, Anakin Skywalker is silently thanking Edward Cullen for coming up with a dumber come-on line than "I don't like sand."

Second thought: Bambi! NOOOOOOO!

"We're the same temperature now" legit creeps me out.

Maybe it's just because Kristen Stewart is kind of infamous for her lack of affect, but she just sounds so *bored* to me in the beginning V.O. "After 18 years of being totally boring... I'm still... totally bored."

ETA: Also, I realize this series of movies is very much for fans of the book, but I wouldn't know *what* this movie was about based on this trailer. There's a girl... and she's apparently turned into some sort of monster (red eyes), and... that's about all I'm getting.

AND I am surprised that Taylor Lautner isn't shirtless in this trailer. XD

. . . and turning into a monster is what made her "shine."

*facepalm*

There are so many things wrong with that -- I can't even begin to list them.

Love your take on the voiceover. :-D That is EXACTLY what it sounds like!!

"After 18 years of being totally boring... I'm still... totally bored."

I snorted with SO MUCH LAUGHTER over this. She's been this character for FIVE MOVIES, and she STILL couldn't bother to sound like she cares?

Well . . . it IS Bella Swan we're talking about. :-)

I'll grant you, she doesn't have much (anything) to work with. But when the empty-shell-Mary-Sue of the book has more personality than the on-screen portrayal of her... I mean, that's just bad.

Also, Kristen's facial expressions make me laugh when I probably, really, shouldn't laugh. XD

"After 18 years of being totally boring... I'm still... totally bored."

LOL!!! You win!

I saw this trailer while I was at another movie and I just thought "What the ....?"

People can like Twilight it's fine with me, but I just don't get it. Hey, it does make for great ammo for making jokes about one of my co-workers who is from Forks.

I just said, "YOU STILL ARE ORDINARY!"

Yegads, why is there not only one guy, but TWO guys after this stupid chick? WHY?!

[identity profile] msantimacassar.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that was probably the most boring thing ever. Can't we even have some vampire fighting or baby mutants running around?

You haven't lived until you're sitting in a quiet movie theater with all kinds of teenage girls entranced by a trailer and suddenly you break the mood by laughing out loud at what is meant to be a serious moment. I made no friends that day. But it was worth it!

Glad I could help share in the snark!

[identity profile] mosinging1986.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Hahahahaha!

[identity profile] mosinging1986.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe I actually have to go see this movie! And pay for it!

That chick is the dullest character I've ever seen in fiction. EVER. The double miracle is that there's an actress just as dull to play her.

A match made in . . . well, not heaven. ;-)

YOU JUST KILLED ME. ROFL.
