I DID IT!!!

I guessed Irene's password before Sherlock Holmes did!

What do I win? :-)

The internet?

And did you like it?

It certainly had its weird moments, but I did!

Whoah!

I just got a rundown of cuts PBS made... and I feel like THEY RUINED THE WHOLE THING.

Well, surprisingly none for adult content.

Here are a few:

When John arrives at Buckingham Palace he giggles and says "I'm fighting the urge to steal an ashtray." Sherlock giggles, too. Then, when they're in the cab on their way home, John asks how Sherlock knew the queen was a smoker (thinking about that... do they cut when he deduces Harry and then asks for his lighter? I think they do) and Sherlock says "As ever, you see but you don't observe" and pulls the ashtray out of his jacket. It's just great character development, and I miss it.

After Sherlock goes to the morgue and has his (BRILLIANT!) conversation with Mycroft, Mycroft gets on the phone with John, and they are checking the flat for drugs. Then, when John promises to stay home with Sherlock to make sure he doesn't do anyhting stupid, his girlfriend breaks up with him and leaves, because he's always ignoring her for Sherlock.

John and Mrs. Hudson have a conversation (WHICH FOR ME IS THE KEY TO THE WHOLE EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!) that goes like this:

"Mrs. Hudson, has he ever had a... girlfriend? boyfriend? _a relationship_!?!"

"I don't know."

"How can we not know?"

"He's Sherlock."

THEY CUT IT!!!!!!!

That's all that comes to mind at the moment from the bit that I saw and what people told me.

And I would be less unhappy if they just really didn't have time (though, come on, PBS? Surely they have something dull to cut 15 minutes from...) But they cut it for a stupid opening by Alan Cumming. Oh, also, cutting into the ep with the Masterpiece Mystery intro and Cumming -- NOT COOL!

Bummer! That's PBS for you. They brag about having no commercials and then they go around making random cuts. (AND inflicting pledge drives on us.)
