No regrets

It's now been more than a year since I started attending the little Anglican church. (I thought it was a year this month, but looking back through this journal, looks like it was actually a year last month.) No regrets. Even though it was so hard to leave my former church -- and even though I have a rather long drive every Sunday morning -- no regrets AT ALL. The church is great, the pastor is fantastic, and I come home every Sunday happy instead of miserable. One of the best things I ever did.

I only wish all the people I left at the old church could get out, and find better churches too . . . but that's up to them, not me.

My view of Anglicanism has evolved in recent years, but you could definitely do worse. ;)

I appreciate that. :-)

That's great! Attending the service should always make you feel better, that's the point, at least in my opinion. I never liked those priests that seem to want people to feel miserable (or perhaps that's a catholic thing? I grew up in a catholic community and my experience with church services was not good.)
Anyway, I'm happy for you, you obviously made the right decision. ^_^

That mentality seems to cross all barriers. I've seen it in Protestants as well as Catholics. Fortunately, I've also seen its opposite! :-) It's not that I go just looking for a quick pick-me-up, but if the priest or pastor is trying to share truth and can do it in a way that encourages, uplifts, and helps, that's a great thing.

And thanks!

I agree, that's the best any religion or faith can do for you and I admire people who can do that with their sermons / lectures etc.

You're welcome. ♥ Have lovely Easter Days!

That's so good to hear Gina! It's very important to have a good and safe spiritual 'home', especially in this crazy world of ours.

Congrats! I'm so happy you have found a good place that shelters you and feeds your faith instead of irritating you! :) That is a great achievement.
