It's a Harry Potter villains' reunion!

For those interested, we're keeping track of casting news for the new Great Expectations feature film, over at Dickensblog. Thus far, Helena Bonham Carter is in talks for Miss Havisham, Ralph Fiennes for Magwitch, and newcomer Jeremy Irvine for Pip. Rooney Mara (The Social Network) was in talks for Estella, but had to drop out.

Actually, there will be two! There's this one, and then the BBC is doing a miniseries. (And also a miniseries of "Edwin Drood.") It's all inspired by the Dickens bicentennial next year.

I had hoped for a new "Tale of Two Cities," but alas, it doesn't look like anyone's doing one.

The feature film starts filming this summer, and if I remember correctly, there's been some talk of a winter 2011 release for the BBC GE. But beyond that, there's not a lot of info available yet.
