Nice try, Doctor

After all the Doctor Who episodes that have scared the living daylights out of me, how odd that the one that was trying really hard to scare me ("Hide") couldn't do it. Oh, I jumped a little when "Romeo" (heh) growled at the door, or got in the Doctor's face that one time, but that was about it. Maybe it's because I watched it in broad daylight, or because I've finally seen all the ghost-story tropes enough times to be used to them, or even because I found Jessica Raine as Emma a little less than convincing.

Or maybe this show has finally toughened me up at last! And they said it couldn't be done.

ETA: . . . Or maybe not, because those Gollum things in the new episode just scared the ever-living CRAP out of me.

Wow, you're wimpier than me! Other than the momentary 'BOO!' type things, it never would've occurred to me to think of this show as scary. (Except for 'Blink' and the one with Nine, I think called 'The Empty Child'. Dude. Freaky.)

That chick who played Emma looked familiar to me. Neither of the two latest eps did much for me, mainly because I am terrible at figuring out The Mystery. Looks like we're in for another long mythology as we wait to learn who/what Clara is. I am so slow at these things! It frustrates me. I can't be that dumb!

Oh, well. It's cute and fun. That's why I like it. Eleven has been a good break from Ten, who became All Emo, All the Time.

I am wimpier than EVERYBODY. Believe me. :-)

Oh, dear. I guess you are never watching The X-Files!
