My Italian teacher comes up with some pretty creative ideas for in-class exercises. Tonight he had us on "Italian Idol," only writing poems instead of singing. Because we didn't have much time and I didn't feel very confident about my ability to find rhyming words in Italian, here's what I wrote:

Ho paura di
Scrivere una rima.
Scrivo un haiku.

(Translation:

I'm afraid to
Write a rhyme.
I'm writing a haiku.)

When all else fails, you can always be a smart aleck!

Nice one!

Learning Italian sounds awesome! Have you been enjoying it?

Very much! It's hard -- I've been taking it for a while and I keep feeling like I should be far more fluent by now than I am -- but it's fun!

I would love to learn Italian. To me, it's the most melodic and dramatic language, maybe even more than Spanish!

It is a beautiful language. I love the sound of it.

That class sounds fun. :) Good luck with mastering Italian. You seem to have made a lot of progress.
