No, I know, I just wasn't clear - that was in response to people saying that the play is overdone or that it holds the lead characters up for emulation. I think you're right that people think the play has been filmed more often than it has because the narrative is common; all I was trying to say is that people *also* tend to fault the original when they talk about the narrative.
