You leave your guard post for a COMPUTER CHESS GAME?

Why didn't they just retitle the show Locke Is an Idiot at this point?

"I was wrong."

YA THINK?????? Geesh, John! Just when I'd started to really like you!

(This show actually has quite a few helpful things to say about faith. Interesting.)

In other news, Desmond is a darling, Ben is super-creepy, and Hurley should've thrown Michael in the creek when he had the chance. And that season 2 finale, to use a much-abused but still-appropriate word, was epic.

I don't know what's funnier, Hurley knocking Sawyer on his butt, or the huge grins on Jin's and Sun's faces.

Oh, and here's the OTHER greatest scene in the history of ever. Embedding is disabled, and I'm not good enough to do the workaround, so I had to link it. Look at the expression in Ben's eyes when he starts talking about what he'd do IF (heh, heh) he were "one of them." Genius, thy name is Emerson.

Just finished watching "The 23rd Psalm." Oh WOW, what an episode! I almost cried!

(Wish they'd quit with the sudden loud noises out of nowhere, though. I HATE sudden loud noises. No matter how obvious it is that they're coming, and how hard I try to brace myself for them, they make me jump every time.)
litlover12: (Psych)
With a couple of exceptions -- Sun and Jin, Rose and Bernard -- I'm not buying any of the major romances on LOST. Not Kate and Sawyer, not Kate and Jack (make up your mind, girl!), not Shannon and Sayid. None of these people seem to have any actual reason to like each other or to be together. Lassiter and his ex-con bride on Psych are more believable.

But it's Psych, so they made it believable. And they made it AWESOME. Seriously, best TV wedding ever. (As I said on Facebook at the time, I want all those men in my wedding. Including Woody in the swim trunks. My future husband will have no say in the matter -- those will be his groomsmen, and that's that.)

Anyway, getting back to LOST . . . Sun has become my second-favorite character (after Hurley, of course). I have a thing for the quiet, gentle, still-waters-run-deep types. That's probably why most Dickens heroines don't bug me the way they do many readers.

With the exception of Ruth in Martin Chuzzlewit. If I had been Dickens's friend, I'd have swiped his pen and refused to give it back until he promised to rewrite Ruth.

. . . From LOST to Psych to LOST to Dickens. I seem to be in a very rambly mood this morning.

I begin to see why Ana Lucia wasn't too popular. Bossy brat, isn't she? And the thousand and one pet the dog moments are not helping. If there's anything worse than a bossy brat, it's a bossy brat being shoved down your throat.

I realize, from my reading, that Ana Lucia was never a fan favorite. And yes, I know what she's going to do a little later in season 2. (That was the only episode I actually happened to catch while the show was on TV.)

But any chick who spends half her time punching Sawyer in the face gets brownie points from me.

"Life's not so bad, right? I mean, sure, the Others are coming, like, to eat us all, and every once in a while someone blows up all over you. But you do get to sleep in every morning."

I love Hurley.
litlover12: (TV_ED)
I wish I'd spoiled myself more thoroughly for the season 1 finale. That sucker was INTENSE. Dude.
litlover12: (TV_ED)
As could Charlie's baby-naming skills. (Don't ever, EVER say "turnip-head" in front of a new mother, you dolt!)

Also, I like Locke better now that he's not Mr. I-Know-Everything-About-Everything-At-All-Times.
litlover12: (MST3K5)
When do we get to the part where Locke stops weirding me out? Because he is still WEIRDING ME OUT.

Granted, I'm still in season 1. Don't look at me like that. I'm trying to watch this AND get through Lawrence of Arabia AND my new MST3K box set AND keep up with all my weekly shows plus whatever's good on TCM. It's a lot.

Hurley built a golf course.

Everyone was in grim survival mode, and developing rashes, and going nuts, and Hurley went out and BUILT A GOLF COURSE. A two-hole golf course.

I think I'm in love.

More TV thoughts ahead . . . )

As [livejournal.com profile] mosinging1986 knows, I've finally been talked into watching LOST. I'm now four episodes in. Someone tell me, do Sawyer and Locke improve at all? Because right now the former is annoying me and the latter is creeping me out. Though I have to say the "Walkabout" episode was beautifully done. I've picked up an awful lot about the show and the characters over the years, through what they call "fandom osmosis," but apparently not as much as I thought, because I truly did not see that twist coming.

Anyway, given the way that TV shows go, those two will probably turn out to be the big heroes or something.
