I hardly ever purposely leave a book unfinished, even if I don't like it. (Sometimes it might take me years and years to get through it, thanks to my habit of reading multiple books at once, but that's different.) But I could not finish Laura Moriarty's The Chaperone. Just couldn't do it. It's one of those books where The Affair is telegraphed for hundreds of pages -- or rather, since this was an audiobook, for many hours -- and you know it's going to be one of those Life-Changing Affairs that teaches our heroine to See the World Differently and Be More Tolerant, and BLECCCCHHHH. It's left a foul taste in my mouth. I need to go read something really good now to get rid of it.

ETA: Look what just popped up on Facebook (from Book Riot)! It's perfect!
