Andrew Davies is adapting War and Peace as a BBC miniseries.
The stakes aren't terribly high for me personally -- I haven't read the book, and the only version I'm familiar with is the Audrey Hepburn movie -- but still, I hope he does a good job on it. You never can tell with Davies. It's sort of a Jekyll & Hyde thing -- there's the sublime Davies and then there's the sleazy Davies. It's a bit disconcerting never knowing which one's going to pop up.
