I've just about had it. I never really took to the new cast anyway, but now they sicken me. At least the House characters used to acknowledge the existence of some sort of morality; now the whole show's a moral sinkhole. If it weren't for the terrific-looking karaoke scene next week, I might not even watch. After that, I may give up. It's just not worth it anymore.

House has become a pile of sexist, immorally obnoxious shit.

I've been rewatching the first season. The first season is awesome. House did behave in a sexist manner, specifically toward Cameron in the first episode. However, those episodes were anti-sexist in their portrayals of Cuddy and Cameron.

And there was positive morality in the episodes. One called "Paternity" House was insisted that the teenage patient had a different biological father, the product of an affair. It turned out he was adopted.

From House, to Looney Tunes, to Pirates of the Carribbean... how do these stories lose their way?

I don't know, but it's depressing. I think the Brits have it right -- let a show run for just four or five seasons at most and then yank it. I think they have the occasional exception, but that's how most of them seem to go. I've hardly ever known a show to go longer than that without deteriorating. ("Monk" was still okay for the most part, but even it started to get a little stale by the end.) Maybe that's the point at which the writers get bored and start smoking pot in the writers' room.

How that guy could see his wife's suffering and then just callously go off with the other woman . . . he must have ice water in his veins. And Thirteen's just as bad for getting all huffy and disappointed when he tried to do the right thing at first. What the heck business is it of hers if a man's faithful to his wife??
