You got me watching Doctor Who. Well, you and Charles Dickens, because the first episode I watched was the Christmas special, to see how they handled "A Christmas Carol." But when half my f-list is constantly in raptures over the same show, it's probably a safe bet that I'm going to tune in eventually. So now I'm watching the new episodes as well.

Let us hope that my f-list never collectively decides to go jump off a bridge, because . . . well, you know. :-)

Anyway, thanks to all you've written about the show, I picked up on things fairly well. So good job, guys. You can be proud!

Oh, and by the way, I totally called . . .

Amy's pregnancy. Knew it when she went looking for a bathroom. I may be new to Doctor Who, but I've seen enough TV in my time to spot these little hints. (I also called Agnes's pregnancy in Upstairs Downstairs last week, though that one was way easier. Persie may be a nauseating character, but when the mere sight of her makes one run off and vomit, something else is up.)

I thought she was pregnant as soon as the doctor said she had gained four pounds, but then I rescinded my opinion because she was drinking, and then I changed my mind again when she got nauseated.

I'm still wondering about the wine, though...

(Actually, the first thing I thought when he said she'd gained four pounds was "HAHA! That's the second time you've written that line, Steven Moffat." The doctor had at least two very Sherlockian moments in that ep. :-D )

This makes me gleefully happy! I've been converted to so many shows through friends, sometimes kicking and screaming. But I don't think I've ever been able to convert someone else, even indirectly. Tho' heaven knows how I've tried and continue to try!

The good thing about DW is that you can jump in anywhere, fairly easily. It's not like 'Battlestar Galactica' or 'Babylon 5', where you'd be utterly... um... 'Lost'.

The Unquiet Dead is the one you should watch. It's the 9th Doctor eps and it has some guy by the name of Charles Dickens, you might know that name.

I actually got into "Doctor Who" from so many on my flist singing its praises, so you're not alone. Though I can't see any bridge-jumping excursions in the future, so you're probably okay there ^_^

I thought Amy might be pregnant when she felt sick at the White House, but then River Song said she felt sick when she was in the tunnels with the aliens and that threw me for a minute. But this will be an interesting dynamic for this season and I'm excited to see how it will play out.

(Seconding the above recommendation for "The Unquiet Dead" from Season 1. You'd enjoy it).

He! Welcome to the crazy world of Doctor Who! Hope you'll enjoy the ride... Will you be watching the older episodes as well?
