All of a sudden I'm hearing the most amazing things about a new film called The Artist. It looks like the offspring of A Star Is Born and Singin' in the Rain (just look at that first shot -- even the year is the same!). It's supposed to have a limited opening in a couple of weeks, but as usual, it's proving difficult to find details of exactly what "limited" means. I'm hoping it includes the D.C. area, because I really want to see it!

YES! Thanks for the reminder! I saw a preview of this in the theater some time back and sat there with my mouth hanging open. I had no idea anyone would make a BW movie like this in today's day and age!

EEEEEEeeeeee!!! This looks so awesome! I'm definitely getting a Singin' in the Rain vibe.

Wow. At first, I couldn't believe it was really a new film set in the classic era--until I saw John Goodman and James Cromwell. Then I knew. :)

Thanks for letting me know about it! I'll be sure to watch and see if it comes to a theater near me. *crosses fingers*
