My Christmas gift to you

I've seen various people on LJ writing stories or making icons or whatnot, as Christmas presents for their f-list. (Thanks in advance for my Darcy/Elizabeth story, keep_counting!) I wanted to do something like that for you guys, but I just don't have the time right now.

But I did want to do something. I enjoy your virtual friendship and wanted to show you all how much I appreciate you. So I came up with this instead: Give me a prayer request and I'll pray for it, every day until Christmas. It can be whatever you want, big or small. If you don't want to say what it is, say "Unspoken" or just "Pray for me."

This helps me, too: I already pray for many of you, but this will help me keep all my requests straight and keep them from slipping my (lousy) memory!

I think for me in stepping down from church for God to guide me to a place of spiritual rest where I can heal from years of wounds inflicted by various church situations.

Wow, this is an amazing idea. I really admire your faith and your willingness to commit.

My whole family, and another, would really appreciate prayers for a man named Joe, who was discovered to have Stage 3 brain cancer a short time ago. He is the breadwinner, with a stay-at-home wife and four children, ages 10-19, 1 daughter and 3 sons. The daughter (also oldest) is the serious girlfriend of my youngest brother (21). So we're all really concerned and would *greatly* appreciate your prayers. They (and we) are all strong believers. Right now they're trying to find the best oncologist for him. We're very fortunate to live in a large metro area with some of the top cancer specialists in the country.

And BTW, my mother is also a cancer survivor. :)

You were truly inspired on this one. Not only is it a lovely gift to us, but -- coming in late as I am -- I'm delighted by all the extra prayers you are getting for your own intentions. People are lucky to have you in their lives.

Please add a prayer for my own family at home -- my mom, stepdad, and baby brother. They have been unhappy for so long. And money is getting truly dire.
