If you must stand around with your mouth hanging open all the time, could you at least put some food into it now and then? Please? I really don't mean to be judgmental or skinny-shaming or whatever the kids are calling it these days, but honey, how can this be healthy? Or this? A woman is supposed to have someplace to put her ribcage.

I do remember seeing some of those pictures of Boyle. I hope she's better. I swear Hilarie Burton (the actress in my post) looks worse every week -- I was going to put up some screencaps of last night's ep that really showed it, but couldn't find any. I hate to see a young woman do that to herself.

What I wish would be done is take these celebs (and anyone else playing around with self-starvation as "diet") and bring them to see people in the end stages of this slow suicide: women with their teeth falling out, looking 20+ years older than they are, bodies like concentration camp victims and at risk of dropping at any moment from heart problems.

I don't think they'd find it quite so attractive then.

Portia De Rossi's biography about her struggle with anorexia was heartbreaking and inspiring. (Her lesbianism comes up periodically and nothing ever graphic) Such a great, great book. At the end when she finally shows pictures of herself after you know what she went through, it is just so emotionally devastating. I hope that Sara gets the help she needs...

Yeah, me too. It's getting scary to watch her. You see it in figure skaters sometimes too, and yet I don't think I've ever seen a skater look as bad as this woman is looking.
