I had forgotten

. . . just how exhausting grief can be. I've been dragging around in a fog for days. (Of course it doesn't help that I had had a strenuous few days at that conference before that.)

I didn't know this loss was going to hit me so hard. Maybe that's because I was stubbornly, irrationally hoping against hope until the very end.

*hugs* It is so comforting to have that hope to cling to, of seeing those dear ones again in Heaven. It just is tough to go through the loss here on Earth. :-( I will continue to pray for you!

Grief becomes so many different things that interfere with daily life (a fog, a wall, a weight). And I don't think we ever react to it in quite the same way, or ever in the way we would expect to, either. Sometimes we cope better than we could ever imagine, and sometimes we flounder. It's such a toss-up. Grief isn't bad, really. It just lets you know you're missing something wonderful. And eventually you don't miss it so much, because you know someday you'll get it back. :)
