Fandom angst

Man, summer hiatus is brutal when you have a favorite show, especially one that likes to end seasons with cliffhangers. I'd forgotten how brutal. I've gotten to the point where I feel like if I don't get to see Reese rescue Finch in, oh, about five minutes, I'm going to start climbing walls.

Anyone else having severe withdrawal pangs from a show -- any show? Please tell me I'm not the only nutjob around here.

Boy, are you lucky you're not an XF fan. They ended seasons on insane cliffhangers ALL the time. It was torture!

At the end of Season 7, I shrieked so loudly that my poor father came rushing down the stairs to see who was killing me. O.o

I've been known to let loose with the occasional shriek as well. Or almost fall off the bed. Or both at once. Lord, the things TV does to us. . . .

Erm... I've been having withdrawal from Green Lantern: TAS.

Because the mid-season finale included this wonderfully amazingly subtle acknowledgement that one of my OTP <3 the other.

And then... hiatus/repeat hell. For months and months.

Apparently it's back in September.

Oh, you are by no means a nutjob without peers. Only a few months ago, I started watching Supernatural, got seriously addicted, and blazed through the first six seasons in about two months. Now I'm waiting for the seventh season to be released on DVD--and that won't happen until just one month before the eighth season is supposed to start. Only thing keeping me sane is constant review of the previous six seasons. XD

WHY do they do wait so long to put out DVDs? It's just cruel!!

We get our PoI season 1 DVD set a week from today. I'm counting the minutes. :-) For one thing, I'll finally get to clean out my overloaded DVR!

I think they do that sort of thing to torment us.) I think some eps were on Hulu, but not all of them - which is worse than not having any! People were not happy.

Exactly! What good does having a handful of episodes from the middle of the season do to brand-new fans trying desperately to catch up without resorting to illegal downloads and stuff?

You are not the only one for sure! I'm practically sick over Psych (although I haven't had to endure the full hiatus), I don't know if I want it back so I can find out or I dread a sad conclusion...

Still totally worried about Finch on the PoI front, though! I have this premonition they're going to ratchet it up this season - the 'we're a hit, lets let it loose to avoid a sophomore slump' syndrome. Which would be good...but also possibly bad...

INORITE?! A pox on whoever got me into that show! First, they give us, what, 3 eps? They call that a season? Then they waited FOREVER for the next installment. Then their stupid seasons are just a few eps long anyway. And now, MOAR waiting, and on the biggest cliffhanger I've ever seen any show do?!
