I couldn't figure out enneagrams for the longest time. I'm still not sure I've got them figured out, but some online buddies of mine tried to explain them and convinced me to take a test. Looks like I'm a 6 with a 5 wing . . . which translates, I believe, to anxious with a side of anxiety.

Sounds about right, I'm afraid.

Me too! My second place one with .02 points behind was a 6w7...which is anxieties that like to have fun. Good grief...

Hee hee, party in the anxiety closet! (Do you remember the anxiety closet from "Bloom County"? I used to love that comic strip.)

A third here! Also wing 5. I really like how it describes being a bundle of opposites, because I so am at times! It doesn't bother me, but it's nice to see that recognized.

Based on the free test and web searching I think I am a 4w5 Social. Um... yay?

Of course, this isn't too much different from horoscopes and the like. You see what you want to see in the descriptions.

The difference with horoscopes, I think, is that they're just based on something completely random (your birthdate). When you're taking a personality test, it actually takes into consideration aspects of your own specific personality and preferences that you supply.

I'm not saying they're not fallible, or that you can't find what you want in them, but I do find them helpful sometimes. (Interestingly, a friend of mine pointed out that one often discovers that one is precisely the type one DOESN'T want to be!)

I scored six this time, but I think I took this before and got 9 (which was also my second highest this time) and 9 sounds a lot more like me.

I think my Mom's cousin (a Columban sister) was the first person to tell me about the Enneagram. It is complicated! I am pretty consistently a 4, but with strong leanings to 2 and 9 - and also 5 and 6, in the short test I just took. Which means an artsy type with a social conscience, I guess!

6s, from the sound of it, keep the rest of us grounded. If you're a 6, you're a valuable person! (Never dismiss Hufflepuffs. I'm a Huffleclaw, myself.)
