So I was planning to hate-watch the live production of Grease tomorrow night. That's a very literal term in this case. I really hate Grease. But I haven't missed a live TV musical yet since they started doing them a few years back. If they go well, like The Wiz, then it's all good, and if they don't go well -- well, it's like the proverbial trainwreck. You just can't look away.

So as I was saying, I was going to hate-watch Grease, but alas, I have dance class. I'll have to hate-DVR it. It's more fun to do these things live, but at least I guess this way I can find out online where all the really cringeworthy parts are and maybe just do a quick tour of the highlights. Or lowlights, as the case may be. ;-)

Wait, there's a live production... on TV? I'm clueless!

I loved the movie growing up. I'm not sure on this, but it may have been the first movie I saw in the theater. But of course as a kid, most of it went over my head. When I was living with some roommates years ago we got on the topic and we all agreed we had not seen it since were kids. So we rented it. Wow! None of us realized quite how raunchy it was. I'm not even sure we finished it!

And, of course, the final lesson is one of the WORST THINGS EVER. Hey, girls! The only way to keep your guy is change everything about yourself - especially if that means looking like a hooker! Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they make the argument that he changed into a jock type to please her. But no one took that seriously. Not even him.

When I was little, I did live for the day when I could hit Olivia's last, high note on "Hopelessly Devoted to You".

And now I can!

Well, huh! And wow, I don't know who half these people are.

Very tempting! Unless... they're really bad. Which I have no idea if they will be or not, since I don't know them.

*twitch*

I've seen Tveit and Hudgens live onstage in various musicals. I think they'll be fine. Hough I'm not sure about. She was once one of the regular dancers on Dancing with the Stars, and then she went through a country singer phase. So her dancing and singing should be fine, but I don't know how she'll be as an actress.

Hm, thanks. I'll probably take a peek once it reaches the interwebs. I can't take watching things live on TV. I'm so afraid someone will mess up and I will feel SO bad for them. Just a weird quirk of mine, LOL!

I've been on many a stage in my life. Forgetting a line, coming in at the wrong spot (or not coming in!), your voice cracking, TRIPPING on stage - the fears are endless!

Your hatred of Grease is very soothing. I hear references to it *all over the place*, and since I've never been interested in it, it's annoying. (Especially whenever people make jokes when I wear my black vinyl jacket.)
