If you are, please tell me -- does the writing get better? I'm only about halfway through the first ep on the DVR, and the writing keeps making me wince. I want to watch this for a number of reasons: the acting is good, the period and premise are interesting, and most of all, I love Alexandria. It's just a few miles from me and it's a really cool place, and I love the idea of a historical drama set there. But ugh, this writing! If the endless cliches and the clunky, on-the-nose lines don't let up, I may have to bail.
