I haven't seen anyone doing this on LJ yet, but it's all the rage on Facebook. I did one, but then I slightly rethought my choices, so I'm redoing it here! The idea is simple: Describe yourself in three fictional characters.

I choose . . .

Harriet Vane, because we have the same sense of humor, we both put a high value on honesty -- with others and with ourselves -- and we have the same talent for internal detachment and objectivity.

Eliza Doolittle, because we're both determined and driven and good at standing up for ourselves . . . and we both like to wear pretty clothes while doing it.

I had chosen Amy Dorrit as #3, but then The Swan aired on TCM again and I was reminded that I should have chosen . . .

Princess Alexandra, because we're both introverted to the point of being misunderstood, and shock people half to death when we reveal we actually have feelings. It's sometimes painful to me to watch this movie because I identify with her so much.

(Alas, none of this means that I end up with Lord Peter, Professor Higgins, or Prince Albert.)

Feel free to do the meme yourself! You don't have to give reasons if you don't want to; most people don't. I just did it for fun.

This is so perfect! And you remind me again that I still have to watch The Swan! Harriet Vane was the first one that popped into my head even before I clicked the cut! ^_^

You know me well! :-D Harriet is by far the biggest percentage of me!

I've seen so many people do this meme! It's so fascinating. These are really good selections for you.

It's also somewhat mystifying - I can't think of anyone I would be a match for. Either I don't know myself well, or maybe I just identify with so many archetypes I can't isolate any few.

It took me a long time to come up with my three! Maybe yours will come to you eventually! :-)

Well, trying to put it into words in my comment started to help. I may have a couple... we'll see. I'll probably post something soon. Though both of the two I've come up with are men. Strange, that!

Eliza Doolittle, lovely choice! I haven't had a chance to watch Princess Alexandra or Harriet Vane in action, but they sound a lot like you as well. :) How did you pick just three characters?! I am still trying to decide on just three myself.

I had trouble getting to three! :-) Harriet and Eliza were givens -- I've always identified with them -- but it was difficult coming up with a third. Are you going to post about yours when you decide?

Three is a funny number, alright. I came up with two as well right away, and I've got about a dozen vying for third place. It's sooo hard. But I think I will post it when I *eventually* jab with a pin and pick one. :)
