Dear Emma Thompson,

Kindly go take a long walk off a short pier. And take your stupid remake with you.

Sincerely,
Litlover12

Oh, no. :( I kind of hope my mom doesn't read that, she still hasn't forgiven Jennifer Love Hewitt for comparing herself to Audrey Hepburn.

Oh, dear. I love Emma Thompson as an actress, but that is so unprofessional. (And I also really enjoy Audrey Hepburn - love her in "Charade".) Why is it necessary to say negative things about someone else when you are being honored?

Hi, I'm looking around friends-of-friends journals and was wondering if you would like to be friends?

About Emma Thompson... I like MFL, but was never a huge fan. (Adored the leads separately but never believed them as a pair. But the costumes and songs were AMAZING!) But anyone who trashes Hepburn, must have a few screws loose.

Um.

When I saw this post, I thought, "Oh no, I love Emma Thompson!"

And now I am FULL OF RAGE at her too! Grr rr r rrrrrrrr...

Also: I don't do Audrey Hepburn. I think that she's a guy thing.

That's a pretty weird remark, since a guy friend of mine commented just a few days ago that you often hear women idolizing Audrey, but rarely hear men hold her up as the epitome of beauty or whatever in the same way. Which in my experience is true.

This is also a weird, weird sentence from the reporter: "He's more brutal,' says Thompson who admits to being a feminist."

Uh, Daily Mail, have you been smoking crack? Do we really "admit" to being feminists in 2010? An actor publicly admitting to being anti-feminist would be newsworthy...

This is one rage-inducing article!

I liked her too, until she came up with this remake idea and started spouting all kinds of gibberish about it.

And I HATE what she wants to do with the men. The story is a *comedy*. Higgins and Doolittle do stuff that's not so great, especially the latter, but they're layered characters with good sides and bad, and it's all meant to fit into the larger story, which is satirical and funny. And the audience is supposed to enjoy the characters.

If someone wants to make a film about sexual slavery, they definitely should -- the issue needs all the attention it can get -- but it shouldn't be "My Fair Lady"!!

WOW! I've found the Daily Mail to be overly sensationalist at times, but no doubt the core remark was something Thompson actually said.

It's true, they are. If she says she's misquoted, then I'll feel a mite better. But I'll still hate the idea of this remake.
