Hypothetically speaking . . .

Suppose an anonymous person hypothetically wanted to download a recording from the Web . . . what would be the best way for this unnamed person to hypothetically do so? Any recommended hypothetical sites?

Let me add that I don't THINK it would be illegal in this particular case -- and I tend to be extremely strict in my ethics about these things (which is why I don't know how to go about this), so I hope it's not. I just wanted to try to hear a recording of BBC Radio's dramatization of Our Mutual Friend that aired late last year, but it's not on CD. And as far as I can tell from the people I've spoken to, who seem never to have even heard of it (nice well-informed staffers you've got there, BBC), there don't seem to be any plans to put it on CD. I'd happily buy it open-and-aboveboard if I could, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do so.

Hypothetically speaking...this doesn't seem like something that could be captured for BitTorrent or a similar site - the reason we couldn't listen to it is due to the fact that it's only licensed for the UK. I've tried to listen to the BBC DC recordings online and couldn't (which is why I eventually caved and bought the cassette set).

Tis a hard thing - I managed to catch most of this on Listen Again when it aired the first time. I contacted the composer about the soundtrack, and he implied that they were doing a CD release soon, but that was last year...
