Yes . . . it's even being released by the same company. But they're clearly making B&E out to be the bad guys, or at least the "dull" guys. Given how much people loved those characters in the first movie, I think those coattails may backfire on the company, if you'll pardon the horrendously mixed metaphor.
It was #1 that got me -- the way he kept chasing her around the tree was making me positively dizzy. I was ready for him to pull a Luke from "Gilmore Girls": "Would you just stand still!"
Waiiiit, are they REALLY trying to make a sympathetic dramatic movie about Nazi sympathizers? I mean, REALISTICALLY if he had stayed on the throne, Great Britain WOULD have become part of the Hitler's territory.
Seriously, I am thrilled that movies are being made about this time period. I mean it's relatively "modern history" that has impacted our world today. However, if you're going to write about Edward, at least be truthful about it instead of trying to hide the fact that he was a Nazi spy and not exactly an upstanding inspirational person...these people. Madonna, you just need to stop trying to be British and stick to kidnapping adopting children.
She's one of the most annoying celebrities of all time. And that's saying a lot considering the competition. How long have we put up with her? 25-30 years? GO AWAY ALREADY!
Oh dear... I'm not sure I'll be able to handle two hours of that. What's with the tree chasing and Wallis' vampire-like skin? I half expected her to start sparkling! I shall now watch The King's Speech and laugh in Madonna's face. *hugs Bertie and Elizabeth* How dare you insult my babies!
It's worst than I imagined. The subject matter and the director made me wary (but still curious), however if this is a true taste of the movie with the intrusive music, the flashing images, and the dizzying camera work... I'm not sure I could sit through it without getting motion sickness!
I have a lot of sympathy for David and I think he was just so desperate for someone to love him considering his low self esteem and self loathing, but jeez, romanticizing this when Wallis totally used the guy and then when he wasn't exactly an upstanding fellow himself... Oh well, they romanticize everything these days.

Date: 2011-09-08 06:34 pm (UTC)The funny thing is, my brother came in as I was watching the first video and said, "She looks like you!" Oh, how flattering. LOL.
