I'm in charge of the goddaughters this morning. I'm staying at the local Comfort Inn, and they're staying with me as a special treat. Let me tell you, if it weren't so useful for keeping them entertained, I'd be snarking the HECK out of Dora the Explorer right now. How kids today put up with this kind of brain rot is beyond me. Good thing I brought a Looney Tunes DVD for them. We can't watch it in the room because there's no DVD player, but at least I know they'll have the chance to discover what a quality cartoon looks like when they go home!

It seems Richard Wagner had a bicentennial last week, which I didn't notice. As I'm not a fan of Wagner, I can't say this bothers me much. However, the man left one important legacy -- without him, we wouldn't have one of the greatest cartoons of all time.

So thanks, Herr Wagner!

The world does not need a Looney Tunes reboot. The world does not WANT a Looney Tunes reboot. Run all the classic episodes and we'll be perfectly happy with that, and you'll have saved yourself a lot of time, effort, and money. Try to make up new and inferior versions, and they'll end up like this. Do you know one single person who watched Loonatics or cared about it or has any memory of it whatsoever? Yeah, me neither.

Seriously, how hard is this to understand? DON'T FIX WHAT AIN'T BROKE!
